Exit Checks for passengers travelling from UK ports​

From 08 April 2015 the UK Government is introducing exit checks at all UK ports of departure. In order to ensure a quick and efficient check-in process can all customers have their passports or identity card ready for inspection when checking in for our services.

Newcastle - Amsterdam sailings 

Tyne Pedestrian and Cyclist Tunnel refurbishment.

Please note that The Tyne Pedestrian and Cyclist Tunnels, between How​don and Jarrow, will close for refurbishment work and expected to re-open June 2015. A replacement shuttle bus will be in action throughout this period. For more info and scheduled shuttle bus times, please click here.​
Dover - Dunkirk/Calais sailings ​

Due to the busy holiday period we highly recommend our customers to allow 90 minutes to pass through passport and check-in controls. DFDS Seaways check-in controls open 2 hours prior to the departure and close no later than 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure.

Operation Stack is currently in place on the M20 and tourist customers are highly recommended to travel to the Port of Dover via the M2/A2.

Traffic controls are in place at the Port of Dunkirk, Police are on site controlling the traffic to minimize delays.

Dart Charge – New payment arrangements at the Dartford Tunnel ​

Payment for the Dartford Tunnel can no longer be paid on arrival at the crossing. For more information to pay for Dart Charge or to use this service please click here​

Amended Schedule Dover-Calais Services
DFDS Seaways regret to advise due to operational reasons the following services have been cancelled on our Dover-Calais route:
​From 19 July until 20 December each Sunday the following crossings have been cancelled; 
Exit Port Calais: 09:00
Exit Port Dover: 10:15

​All affected customers confirmed on the cancelled services will be notified by DFDS Seaways. Alternatively customers with existing bookings can call our customer contact centre on 0344 848 6090 to discuss your travel arrangements.

​DFDS Seaways would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers due to the rescheduling of our services.  


Newhaven - Dieppe sailings may be subject to alteration due to tidal restrictions.​
