Getting to the port by car

From the M25: Drivers should leave at junction 28 and follow the A12 (north) signposted Chelmsford and Colchester. At Colchester, turn off the A12 onto the A120 following signs for Harwich. On approach to the port follow signs for Harwich International Port

From the North: It is easiest to use the A14 to Ipswich. At Ipswich join the A12 (south) towards Colchester. At Colchester join the A120 and follow as above.

Getting to the port by Train

From London Liverpool Street 'National Express' operates trains leaving approximately every hour, arriving in Harwich International 90 minutes later. The station is just outside the ferry terminal building. Trains also connect Harwich with the rest of the UK; times and fares can be found at www.nationalexpress.com

Harwich International Port is served by an adjacent railway station, but several Harwich taxi services are available if required.
