In response to the announcement that Eurotunnel is facing strike action this weekend

Date published: 24 August 2011

DFDS Seaways (formerly Norfolkline) Dover – France ferries is operating to schedule with limited space currently available for additional car passengers looking to return to the UK this bank holiday weekend.

All car passengers looking to avoid the strike action threatening the Eurotunnel service are advised to call DFDS Seaways as soon as possible to secure their crossing as capacity is limited this weekend - the busiest time of the year for people returning to the UK after their summer holidays.

DFDS Seaways sails between Dover and Dunkirk, which is situated in the North of France, with easy access from the main European arterial roads. At only 20 miles east of Calais, Dunkirk is an ideal departure point from France and the Continent, and is a lot less congested than Calais.

Please note that DFDS Seaways does not carry foot passengers on its Dover - France route.
