DFDS Seaways bolsters cross channel coach offerings with key appointment
Date published: 7 November 2011
The DFDS Seaways English Channel route has appointed Stuart Duddy as Head of Coach Sales and Contracts as part of its strategy to launch a coach carrying service on its Dover – Dunkirk route.
The ferry operator is offering dedicated coach packages, guaranteed levels of comfort, service and sophistication on each of its three identical state of the art vessels. As the only ferry operator sailing into Dunkirk, the port is quieter than Calais but it has the same excellent motorway links and offers shorter drive times when travelling to Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Germany and beyond.
A high profile figure in the coach industry, Stuart has over 14 years in the Cross Channel coach industry, and has previously worked at P&O Ferries, Eurotunnel and LD Lines.
Stuart Duddy said: “I’m thrilled to have joined DFDS Seaways, and excited about launching a proposition which will make huge waves in the Cross Channel market. Our fares will be highly competitive and together with the added benefits of being flexible, having a single point of contact booking process, as well as our award winning customer experience, I am certain that our service will prove to be very attractive to coach operators.”
Chris Newey, Passenger Director for the DFDS Seaways English Channel route, said: “Coach passengers will now be able to travel across the Channel with DFDS Seaways, and will also be able to mix and match with our other ferry routes to and from the UK, France, Holland, Scandinavia and the Baltic States, providing a wealth of options for holidays and trips.
“Customers will be able to enjoy great value shopping, a range of bars and eateries and modern spacious seating areas on board the vessels.”
Coach drivers and staff will also be able to benefit from a dedicated Road Kings area with massage chairs, lounge area, private restaurant, internet access and full shower facilities.
