Family eating in 7 Seas restaurant

Cruise ferry operator, DFDS Seaways and short break operator, Superbreak have announced a new partnership for 2012.

As part of the commercial joint venture, DFDS Seaways will provide ferry crossings to Amsterdam from Newcastle onboard its cruise ferries for a range of Superbreak’s hotel breaks to Amsterdam.

DFDS Seaways offers daily return sailings from Newcastle to Amsterdam giving Superbreak customers a greater choice and flexibility in terms of their travel to the Dutch capital. The cruise ferries offer a range of restaurants including à la carte dining and cafes, as well as a cinema, casino and live entertainment, ultimately making the journey to Amsterdam part of the break.

Graham Balmforth, National Sales Manager, Superbreak says: “We’re thrilled to be able to give our customers greater choice for their journey when booking with us. We are impressed with the quality of onboard experience provided by DFDS Seaways – the range of restaurants, bars, entertainment and other facilities is outstanding.”

In addition to this, when booking Amsterdam hotel breaks including a DFDS Seaways’ ferry crossing, travel agents will be able to choose from Superbreak’s hotel range making it easier for agents to match customers with the accommodation they are looking for.  Superbreak has an extensive range of hotel accommodation in the Dutch capital, meaning there is also greater choice in terms of location and price.

DFDS Seaways will continue to sell hotel breaks to Amsterdam through its contracted hotel suppliers, but the partnership will give agents more choice when booking. Both companies place strong emphasis on travel agent bookings and believe this joint venture will prove popular with agents and customers alike.

Andrew Crowe, UK head of sales at DFDS Seaways says: "This is an excellent partnership as both companies share the same values. We are both committed to providing our customers with a quality experience and level of service and I believe this partnership presents agents, and ultimately the customer, with a first class product and a wide range of short break options.”

DFDS Seaways’ cruise ferries to Amsterdam depart from Newcastle daily with 3-night hotel breaks booked via Superbreak starting from £89pp including return ferry crossing, coach transfers to/from Amsterdam and a 1-night hotel stay. Call 0871 221 4444 to find out more.
