DFDS Seaways pushes the boat out to launch seven charity Mini Cruises
DFDS Seaways is celebrating its fifth year of supporting local charity, Children North East by increasing the number of departures on its annual Amsterdam charity mini cruise from one to seven.
Children who have been helped by the charity visited the ship today to meet the captain for a tour of KING SEAWAYS and help launch the 2011 dates which are: 19,20,21,22,23,24 and 26 November.
Customers wishing to travel on an Amsterdam charity mini cruise choose to pay £35 or £50 per person (usually from £79pp) for the two night break. DFDS Seaways donate 100 per cent of this money directly to Children North East which is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children in the region. The break includes two nights in an en suite cabin, return coach transfers to Amsterdam and the best part of a day sightseeing the Dutch capital, as well as the chance to enjoy excellent food and live entertainment onboard.
Children North East is the region’s own children’s charity and 120 years old this year. It provides vital help, and emotional and practical support to families with children who are facing difficulties. The money raised from DFDS Seaways charity mini cruises will help provide a happier Christmas for families living in homeless people’s accommodation in the region. Carol Taylor, Senior Fundraiser for Children North East said: “We are very grateful to DFDS Seaways for their phenomenal support over the past five years and for increasing their commitment to charity when so many businesses are cutting back.”
