To celebrate its 143nd anniversary, DFDS Seaways is giving away mini cruises to Amsterdam - all you have to do is donate to local charity, Children North East.
Sailing from Newcastle to Amsterdam on a mini cruise on the 7th or 8th December, the DFDS Seaways’ Charity Mini Cruise includes two nights on board ship in an en suite cabin, coach transfers to and from Amsterdam and the best part of the day to explore this vibrant European city.
Everyone who books for the Charity Mini Cruise simply chooses whether to donate £25, £35 or £50 per person travelling to Children North East. And that is all you pay.
Your short break begins the moment you step on board. Check in to your en suite cabin and check out the live entertainment, restaurants, bars, shops, casino and nightclub. There is plenty to keep you amused as you sail overnight, arriving in to Amsterdam in time for breakfast the next morning.
There is a huge variety of things to do and places to visit in Amsterdam. Head to the district of Jordaan to visit the quirky shops and lovely architecture; from there it is a pleasant walk along Prinsengracht to the Anne Frank House. If it is a bit of culture you are after pop in to the Rijksmuseum or the nearby Van Gogh Museum. Or just wander along the canals, soak up the atmosphere and relax!
Children North East is the region’s longest established children’s charity providing vital help, emotional and practical support to families with young children who are facing difficulties.
John Crummie, UK Managing Director of DFDS Seaways commented: “We have been running these charity cruises to celebrate our anniversary for three years now and they are very popular with our customers. They are an excellent way for people to donate to a local charity that does such worthwhile work within our community, while enjoying a fantastic trip.”
Catrina Flynn, Fundraising and PR Manager for Children North East added: “Over the last few years DFDS Seaways’ Charity Cruises have helped significantly with our fundraising efforts, and we are really pleased that once again they have decided to support us. Children North East provides vital support for so many families across the region, and the work that we do really does make a difference to their lives.”
