TRAVELLING WITH DFDS DURING THE BUSY SUMMER HOLIDAY PERIOD.
Travelling between 15 July to 04 September 2015 – Dover-France Routes
The busy summer holiday period combined with an increase in border and security checks are causing some delays through passport control at the Port of Dover. We are working closely with the border authorities to minimise delays to our customers but we recommend you allow 90 minutes from the entrance of the Port of Dover to reach the DFDS check-in points.
Please have your passports ready for inspection on arrival at border and check-in controls to speed up the process.
DFDS check-in controls open 2 hours prior to the sailing departure and close no later than 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. When travelling to the terminal, please ensure that you keep up to date with our live port and sailing information which is regularly updated with the latest traffic and departure notifications 24 hours a day @DFDSUKUpdates

Important Information - A20 Roadworks Dover
This year there will be two junction improvements on the A20 at the Prince of Wales and York Street roundabouts, beginning 8 February and being completed before 2016 Christmas period.
Additionally, we would recommend freight traffic follows the A20 as normal but tourist customers may wish to travel via the M2/A2. If customers use the M20/A20, then they should use the right hand lane on the approach to Dover.
