Important updates

​The relevant port check-in times for your​ departure can be found on your booking confirmation in local time. When travelling to the port, please allow adequate time in order to complete the check-in process. A minimum of 45 minutes prior to the sailing departure time for our ferry crossings on the Eastern Channel routes, 90 minutes prior to the sailing departure time for our ferry crossings on our Western Channel and Long Sea routes.  


From 08 April 2015 the UK Government is introducing exit checks at all UK ports of departure. In order to ensure a quick and efficient check-in process can all customers have their passports or identity card ready for inspection when checking in for our services.


Cancelled Dover-Dunkirk-Dover services - February 2016
DFDS regret to advise the following sailings have been cancelled on our Dover-Dunkirk-Dover services due to an annual EU Inspection:

Monday 15 February 2016: Exit Dunkirk 10:00 / Exit Dover 12:00
Monday 22 February 2016: Exit Dunkirk 10:00 / Exit Dover 12:00
Monday 29 February 2016: Exit Dunkirk 10:00 / Exit Dover 12:00

All customers affected by this change in our schedule will be notified by DFDS.
Alternatively customers with existing bookings can call our customer contact centre on 0344 848 6090 to discuss your travel arrangements. 
DFDS would like to apologies for any inconvenience caused to our customers due to the cancellation of our services.

I​mportant Information - Upcoming A20 Roadworks Dover
This year there will be two junction improvements on the A20 at the Prince of Wales and York Street roundabouts, beginning 8 February and being completed before 2016 Christmas period.

Additionally, we would recommend freight traffic follows the A20 as normal but tourist customers may wish to travel via the M2/A2. If customers use the M20/A20, then they should use the right hand lane on the approach to Dover. 

I​mportant Information - Dunkirk New Passenger Terminal

​​We are delighted to announce the opening of our new terminal in Dunkirk, which is located 800 metres in front of our previous terminal at Loon Plage.

Pease be aware that important refurbishment work is currently underway as we improve the passenger terminal and rest room facilities at the Port of Dunkirk. Temporary facilities are available while these essential works are taking place. We apologies for any inconvenience to our customers during the upgrade.​​

Dart Charge – P​ayment arrangements at the Dartford Tunnel ​

Payment for the Dartford Tunnel can no longer be paid on arrival at the crossing. For more information to pay for Dart Charge or to use this service please click here​.

Newcastle - Amsterdam sailings 

​Tyne Pedestrian and Cyclist Tunnel refurbishment.
Please note that The Tyne Pedestrian and Cyclist Tunnels, between How​don and Jarrow, will close for refurbishment work and expected to re-open summer 2016​. A replacement shuttle bus will be in action throughout this period.

Amended Schedule Newcastle-Amsterdam Services

Please note there will be no departures on the following dates due to annual maintenance. Over the period, we will operate sailings every other day.

No departures from Newcastle on:

Newhaven - Dieppe sailings may be subject to alteration due to tidal restrictions.​​​
