travel to scandinavia
Our Harwich-Esbjerg route sadly closed in September 2014. Although there is no longer a direct ferry route between the UK and Denmark, there are still a number of convenient ways to get to Scandinavia from the UK using our other routes.
Our daily, overnight crossings from Newcastle to our port in IJmuiden, near Amsterdam, are a convenient way to take your car to Europe and head to Scandinavia.
There’s plenty to do onboard to keep you busy as you sail, including bars, a club, restaurants and a cinema!
What’s more, from our port in IJmuiden it’s just a 5 ½ hours’ drive to Denmark through northern Germany.
With 44 daily sailings between Dover and our ports in Dunkirk and Calais, the two routes offer a convenient way to take your car to the continent from the south of England. Our crossings are short, taking just 90 minutes to Calais and 2 hours to Dunkirk, and there’s plenty to do onboard to keep you busy, including restaurants, a bar, a shop and children’s facilities too. Our ports in Dunkirk and Calais are approximately 7 ½ hours’ drive from Denmark, via Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Continuing your journey
Once you get to Scandinavia, why stop there? You can continue your journey with our ferry crossings between Copenhagen and Oslo, or Kiel in northern Germany to Klaipeda in Lithuania and Karlshamn in Sweden.
