Bruges – One city break you will remember!
Often your first thought of Bruges is chocolate, beer and waffles – and you wouldn’t be far wrong. However Bruges offers much, much more and caters for all. From stunning architecture to canal rides Bruges should definitely be on everyone’s ‘must see’ list!
For couples
Often described as one of the most romantic cities in the world, Bruges is the ideal city break location to visit with your partner. Gently stroll the charming, cobbled streets and canals of this medieval town before taking a trip in a horse and cart. Visit some of the fantastic museums Bruges has to offer. Sample some of the delicious chocolate, for which the city is famous, on a walking tour to a traditional chocolate shop, one of the very few still left today.
For families
Fun for the little ones too – Bruges offers plenty for families to enjoy on a family holiday away. Of course the chocolate factory is an obvious choice to keep the children entertained, but a boat ride down the cities canals could be a brilliant alternative too. The Groeninge Museum includes many 15th century artworks that the whole family could enjoy, and provides a playhouse for children so that parents can roam the artworks in peace if they wish.
For friends
Bursting with things to do and see, Bruges offers plenty for groups of friends. Known as the capital of the world for chocolate, a trip to the chocolate museum is an obvious choice. For something a little different a hot balloon ride over the city could be an option. To continue the scenic theme, a trip up one of Bruges three spires allows you to take in the sights all at once, before enjoying a traditional local beer from one of the cities many relaxing and vibrant bars and restaurants.
