Relax in Haarlem

Haarlem museum

After a relaxing overnight crossing, you’ll be transferred by coach to the charming city of Haarlem in the North Holland province. Better known as the ’city of flowers’, it was once the centre of the tulip bulb-growing district for centuries.

Explore its compact city centre together - a maze of narrow streets and scenic waterways - brimming with beautiful medieval houses, historical sites, museums and other places of interest.

Enjoy a drink on the terrace of one of the pubs on the main square - Grote Markt - where you can see the old 13th century city hall and the Gothic edifice of St. Bavokerk. On Saturdays, a lively market is held in the Grote Markt, where you can buy flowers, textiles and sample some of the local dishes.

If you like art, then visit the Frans Hals Museum, which has a fine collection of 17th century paintings from the Dutch Masters or head to the oldest museum in the Netherlands, Teylers Museum, devoted to science and art.
