3 night In Search of Eagles Mini Cruise Break to Fanø 

Discover the wildlife and beautiful landscapes of Denmark in this remarkable fully guided bird-watching tour. This fabulous spring cruise includes a relaxing 3 night stay onboard and a day and a half in Denmark sailing from Harwich International Port.

• Ferry crossing to Fanø Island and local coach transfers

This fantastic Spring break allows you to discover beautiful landscapes whilst searching for wild eagles, buzzards and falcons, among other incredible species.

Grasp the opportunity to catch glimpses of the rare White-beaked Dolphin as well as grey seals. All before you get the chance to spend your time in the Denmark wilderness scouting for Sea Eagles, Rough-legged Buzzards, Owls, Waxwings and Great Grey Shrikes, just to name a few!

Once onboard it's time to step out on deck in search of seals, dolphins and birds alongside our expert wildlife spotters. Leaving plenty of time to relax and get comfortable in your en suite cabin as you peacefully sail through the night to Esbjerg.

Choose from a selection of delicious dining options onboard before enjoying our interactive wildlife presentations in the Lighthouse Cafe.

After a relaxing night, you will arrive in Fanø after a short 10 minute ferry from Esbjerg. The island is renowned for its wintering geese and wading birds. Afterwards, returning to the ferry for overnight accommodation.

The following day sees a coach trip to explore a number of important wildlife refuges for White-tailed Sea Eagles, Rough-legged Buzzards among other birds of prey. Barnacle Geese will also be present, whilst searching for exotic Waxwings feeding on winter berries. Don't worry, although there is a lot to see we will still make time to stop for a nice lunch in a traditional Scandinavian village.

Finally, we return to the UK; passing large flocks of sea duck and catching spectacular glimpses of dolphins along the way.

Fanø is a spectacular Danish island which offers far more than just overwhelming scenery and stunning wildlife. The island is famous for the breathtaking beauty of its white sand beaches, dunes and tidal mudflats. This, combined with the wild eagles tour with expert guides and lots of fun activities, makes Fanø a perfect setting for that relaxing break you deserve. 

Fanø is also a very important place for birds, many of them using the island as a fuel-stop on their path to their wintering grounds in Britain, Southern Europe and Africa.

The island is internationally important for wintering geese and wading birds, as well as being famous for its beautiful beaches, dunes and sweeping landscapes. Specialist wildlife guides will be conducting the tour of the island. With the times we visit being popular for wild eagle spotting, our experts will ensure that any questions you have are answered. 

Fanø is also home to quaint Scandinavian towns of Nordby and Sønderho, whose maritime history and thatched houses are a perfect spot to explore, browse the shops or just take this time to sit back, relax and take in all the scenery. After all, this break is all about you.

Your time onboard the ferry to Denmark

You may prefer to dine à la carte and can enjoy a top quality meal in intimate surroundings or treat yourself to a mouth watering tender steak cooked perfectly to your taste. Alternatively simply select a sandwich, snack or pastry from the cafe.


Your Trip at a Glance:

Day 1
16:00 Check-in opens.
17:15 Check-in closes.
17:45 Depart Harwich for Esbjerg.

Day 2
13:00 The ferry arrives in Esbjerg. Depart for half-day tour of Fanø.
19:00 Return to ship after tour, and take dinner from 19:30 onwards. Stay overnight onboard in port.

Day 3
06:00 Breakfast
07:30 Depart ship for full-day wildlife tour.
18:00 Board ship after tour.
18:45 Depart Esbjerg for Harwich.

Day 4:
12:00 Ship arrives in Harwich

Please note: Sunday departures from Harwich are scheduled to leave at 17:15. Please check in between 15:30-16:45. It is also traditional for some shops and attractions to close early on Saturday afternoons.
