Your time in Utrecht

Utrecht

Founded in 48 AD by the Romans, Utrecht has a long and interesting history and the old inner-city is rich with canals, historical buildings and ancient churches.

Utrecht offers a range of attractions and places of interest and you can easily get a taste of the city in a day. The city is also excellent for shopping offering very unique stores including chic boutiques, delicatessen shops and exclusive gift shops. A perfect city for Christmas shopping.

The city is famous for its pedestrian wharfs which run along the canal-side buildings, providing access to cellars. These cellars have now been converted into interesting shops and restaurants. If you want to take it easy, take a canal boat ride, relax in a cafe or taste one of Utecht’s beers at the brewery. When it comes to attractions and museums, visit Miffy the world-famous rabbit at the Dick Bruna Huis, the Central Museum with its large art collection, or climb to the top of the Dom Tower (112 metres and 465 steps!) which towers high above the city.
