Dover to Dunkirk
If you take a ferry to France often then you are probably already aware of our route from Dover to Calais, but did you know we also have a route between Dover and Dunkirk? The Dunkirk port is located closer to the Belgian border than Calais, meaning it is a more convenient starting point for trips east and north. It is also ideal if you're travelling south in France as Dunkirk has excellent links to France’s excellent motorway network.
With 24 daily sailings between the two ports, there are more frequent crossings on our Dover-Dunkirk route than there are from Dover to Calais, meaning you can pick a crossing at the time that suits you. What’s more, the tickets are generally cheaper, with prices starting from just £35 for a car and up to 9 people each way from Dover to Dunkirk compared to £39 from Dover to Calais.
And as we are the only ferry operator to sail to and from Dunkirk, queues for immigration are generally much shorter than at Calais.
Gateway to Europe
Taking a ferry to France means you can travel with your own vehicle and as much luggage as you like and our route between Dover and Dunkirk provides a convenient gateway to Europe – wherever you are heading. Our port in Dunkirk is located approximately 25 miles north of our port in Calais, making it a more convenient option for travelling to northern France, Holland, Belgium or Germany. The port is well-connected, with transport links further afield to eastern and southern Europe.
There are no luggage restrictions on our ferries from Dover to Calais or Dunkirk and you can even bring your pet with you for a small extra charge. What’s more, the short journey time means you can get straight back on the road and continue to your destination.
Just like our Dover to Calais route, the crossings to Dunkirk are short, but there is plenty to do to keep you entertained as you sail. The modern ferries were purpose built for the route and there are excellent facilities onboard. Grab a drink in one of our onboard bars and relax, all the while catching up with the latest news and sport on our TV screens.
Hungry? Try our self-service restaurant to keep those hunger pangs at bay, with a range of meals to choose from including vegetarian and children’s options. There is also a bar for drinks and a snack and a fast food restaurant onboard too.
