From the art and culture of Paris to medieval cities, spectacular mountains and sweeping Mediterranean beaches, France has it all in abundance. There are so many wonderful places to visit, the hardest part will be choosing where to go first. From the Eiffel Tower, France's most famous landmark, to the opulent and historic Palace of Versailles and the 37 World Heritage sites in between, you'll be spoilt for choice. The countryside of France is among the best in Europe too, with gorgeous areas in the Loire Valley, the Côte d'Opale or Burgundy. The history of France has always been linked with that of the UK, and nowhere is this clearer than Normandy, with medieval sites such as the Bayeux Tapestry as well as more modern destinations such as the beaches in the Normandy landings.

Germany is one of the most diverse and charming countries in Europe. It offers some truly remarkable and historic cities, mixed with beautiful rural scenery and quaint little towns and villages that look like they've been untouched for centuries. Berlin is the epitome of cosmopolitan and is the centre for arts and culture with world-class museums and a reputation for ground-breaking creativity. Cologne, Munich and Hamburg each have their own blend of classical and contemporary and boast some outstanding medieval architecture. The beautiful German countryside is as diverse as its cities, from the imposing Bavarian Alps and jutting cliffs of the Jasmund National Park to the tranquillity of the Rhine and the Mecklenburg Lake District.

Holland is a country packed full with historic cities, canals, beautiful farmland, windmills, and picturesque sandy beaches. Most visitors to the country stick with the cultural and vibrant city of Amsterdam but Holland has much more to offer. Make sure you see at least one of the 1000 remaining windmills that dot the landscape and visit some of the lesser known towns and villages that are filled with traditional Dutch architecture. Top this off with a few days relaxing on some of Europe's prettiest beach resorts, such as Scheveningen near The Hague, and you'll want to return year after year.

Belgium is a chocolate lover's paradise, with its world renowned chocolate industry thriving there since the 19th century. Great food is always on the menu in Belgium, with wonderful dishes such as moules et frites popular with tourists, and you can accompany this with a huge range of Belgian beers from breweries such as De Halve Maan in Bruges and more. Belgium also boasts a plethora of ancient castles, medieval belfries and modern museums. Getting there is easy too, just a quick trip across the Channel on one of our ferries to Dunkirk and a short drive over the border and you're ready to sample all that this little country has to offer.
