Caravans go free with DFDS

Take your caravan for free on overnight sailings or take your motorhome for the same price as a car.

Award winning ferry operator, DFDS, is offering caravan and motorhome owners travel between Dover and France on off-peak sailings from as little as £29 each way, which is the cost of a standard sized car. During March, caravanners and motorhomers will be able to travel on any of the night time crossings for the same cost as a car, saving as much as £36 each way.

Those looking to travel to destinations such as France, Belgium and The Netherlands will benefit from cheaper and quieter travel when sailing during the late night and early morning crossings.

Book by 27 March for travel between 3 March and 27 March to take advantage of these mad March fares, which are available on all sailings between 23.00 and 06.00 on weekdays on both Dover-Dunkirk and Dover-Calais routes. On the weekends, the offers are valid from Dover from 16.00 on Saturdays until 23.50 on Sundays and on all departures from Dunkirk or Calais on Fridays or Saturdays. The offers are available for return and one-way crossings from Dover and are subject to availability.

Both French ports have strong road networks allowing passengers to benefit from easy onward travel to destinations in France and Northern Europe and by travelling during the night or early in the morning, holidaymakers can benefit from less congestion en route to their destination and make the most of their time abroad.

The French love camping and there are thousands of campsites across the country – and most are to an excellent standard. Or you may want to explore other countries such as Belgium – which is only 35 miles from Dunkirk – or to Germany or Holland, which are all great places for caravan or motorhome holidays.

DFDS operates up to 44 sailings per day between Dover and France, offering passengers a choice of departure times and flexibility. Passengers can enjoy a luxury onboard travel experience and relax before continuing their journey. Onboard a DFDS ferry, passengers can grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants or sit back with a Costa coffee in one of the café areas, shop for last minute travel essentials or let the kids play in the dedicated children’s areas.
