Sail Away To The Sales With Bargain Deals From DFDS
The countdown is on for the start of the January sales in France and shoppers keen to bag a bargain can also get a great deal on ferry crossings with DFDS.
The French take a different approach to sales than the usual UK sales bonanza, with shopkeepers regulated by government. It’s illegal to discount goods before the sales officially start on 11 January 2017 so the start of ‘les soldes’ is hotly anticipated.
Savings once the sales do get underway are well worth waiting for, with reductions of 50 to 70 per cent on items including designer label clothing, fine foods, electronics and homewares. Deals are available at boutique stores, department stores and hypermarkets and the sales period for French retailers closes on 21 February 2017.
Getting to the sales is easy on DFDS’ services from Dover to Calais and Dunkirk. The company offers up to 54 sailings per day and specially reduced fares are available throughout January and February. Prices start from £65 for a car and up to nine people on a three-day return ticket for travel between 5 January and 16 March 2017. Book at
www.dfds.co.uk or call

The best shopping locations within easy reach of French ports served by DFDS include Calais, for food shopping and the hypermarkets; Le Touquet for its range of beautiful boutiques; and Arras for its superb markets. Some hotels in the region also offer reduced rates to coincide with the sales period. DFDS partners with www.booking.com to provide accommodation.
