WHAT DO A CHRISTMAS TREE, AEROSMITH’S TOUR BUS AND THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE HAVE IN COMMON?

Ferry operator DFDS reveals all

From super cars to the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, DFDS, the World’s Leading Ferry Operator, prove it’s not just holidaymakers they transport.

Campervans and family cars will be what most passengers expect to spot when boarding the ship but not some of the world’s most iconic supercars. The vehicles were transported for ahead of their appearance in the Fast and Furious Live 2018 at Newcastle’s Metro Arena.

In fact, luxury sports cars, more commonly belonging to European Premier League footballers, are often entrusted to DFDS to transport between the UK and Continental Europe and petrol heads may even have found themselves making the crossing with the McLaren Formula 1 car!

And it’s not just vehicles with four wheels that have made the journey across the North Sea. After his recent UK jaunt, Thomas the Tank Engine opted for DFDS when being shipped back to Esbjerg, while the German national football team’s official tour bus has also made the crossing.

Getting the seal of approval from legendary musicians adds another string to DFDS’ bow, as rock stars Aerosmith chose DFDS to transport their decked-out tour bus while super star Rihanna relied on them to safely transport her tour equipment. The ferry operators music credentials don’t stop there though, pop power couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce, counted on DFDS to transport equipment for their On The Run II tour, which came to UK shores just this week.

For those looking to travel alongside these eclectic things, DFDS operates multiple daily sailings between Dover-Dunkirk (from £35 each way for a car with maximum of nine people), Dover-Calais (from £39 each way for a car with maximum of nine people), Newhaven-Dieppe (from £54 each way for a car and 2 people) and Newcastle-Amsterdam (from £72 per person each way for a car and two people, including an en suite cabin).

Passengers crossing with DFDS can kick back and relax with a drink in the on-board cafes and restaurants, explore the extensive shopping facilities and enjoy live entertainment. There are also dedicated on-board children’s play areas to keep kids entertained.
