​Newhaven ferry​ Port​​


DFDS customers will need to pass through passport controls before reaching the check-in points. When travelling to the port, please allow adequate time in order to complete the check-in process. A minimum of 45 minutes (90 minutes for busy sailings) prior to the sailing departure time for our ferry crossings on Western Channel routes​​


Overlooking the English Channel is our Newhaven ferry port, the closest port to London, located on the south coast of England, also near Brighton and Eastbourne.

Travelling to the Port of newhaven


  • Follow A27 past Lewes
  • Take the A26 toward Newhaven
  • Once in Newhaven follow signs to Newhaven Ferry Port

Bus & Coach:

  • National Express runs a regular service to Newhaven
  • Regular buses run from Brighton, Peacehaven, Seaford, Bexhill, Folkestone, Dover, Rye and Hastings

By Train

  • Newhaven railway station is only a short distance away from the foot passenger terminal
  • Regular trains run from all nearby cities, and from London
