Important updates

​The relevant port check-in times for your​ departure can be found on your booking confirmation in local time. When travelling to the port, please allow adequate time in order to complete the check-in process. A minimum of 45 minutes prior to the sailing departure time for our ferry crossings on the Eastern Channel routes, 90 minutes prior to the sailing departure time for our ferry crossings on our Western Channel and Long Sea routes. ​


From 08 April 2015 the UK Government is introducing exit checks at all UK ports of departure. In order to ensure a quick and efficient check-in process can all customers have their passports or identity card ready for inspection when checking in for our services.​​

Annual Joint EU Inspection - Dover-Dunkirk-Dover Services
DFDS regret to advise due to annual EU inspections on our Dover Dunkirk vessels the following services have been cancelled on  Monday 27 February 2017.

Exit Port Dunkirk: 12:00
Exit Port Dover:    14:00

All affected customers confirmed on the cancelled services will be notified by DFDS. Alternatively customers with existing bookings can call our customer contact centre on 0344 848 6090 to discuss your travel arrangements.
DFDS would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers due to the rescheduling of our services.​

Dart Charge – P​ayment arrangements at the Dartford Tunnel ​

Payment for the Dartford Tunnel can no longer be paid on arrival at the crossing. For more information to pay for Dart Charge or to use this service please click here​.

Newcastle - Amsterdam (IJmuiden) sailings

Change in departure time Amsterdam (IJmuiden) on Thursday 23 February 2017, Now departing at 16:00 (local time)
DFDS regret to advise a change of departure time from Amsterdam (IJmuiden) on Thursday 23 February 2017 due to adverse weather conditions in the North Sea. 

The sailing from Amsterdam (IJmuiden) will now depart 90 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time: 
New Departure time 16:00 (local time) on Thursday 23rd February from Amsterdam (IJmuiden) 
Check-in is open from 14:00, please ensure the check-in process is completed no later than 15:30 (local time) 

Customers travelling by coach transfers from Amsterdam City Centre
Bus transfer pick-up times returning to the ship from Amsterdam city centre on Thursday 23rd February will leave from the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel at 13:30 and 14:30 (local time).  You can join any DFDS coach returning to the port between these times.

DFDS would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers due to the earlier departure of our service.​

​Tyne Pedestrian and Cyclist Tunnel refurbishment.
Please note that The Tyne Pedestrian and Cyclist Tunnels, between How​don and Jarrow, will close for refurbishment work and expected to re-open summer 2016​. A replacement shuttle bus will be in action throughout this period.


Newhaven - Dieppe sailings may be subject to alteration due to tidal restrictions.​​​
