It can be hard to decide what to get up to when in Amsterdam, so this guide provides you with suggestions of some of our favourite activities perfect for groups and friends. Combine the ones you’re interested in to create your perfect trip!
The Heineken Experience
Heineken is one of the most popular and recognisable lager brands in the world, and the tour of the Heineken brewery is one of Amsterdam’s most legendary group experiences. The tour is a self-guided journey through the beer-making process, with helpful staff to answer any questions that you may have. You can even sample beers and buy your own bottle with your name on as a souvenir!

House of Bols Genever Experience
Fancy getting to grips with the history and craft behind a famous Dutch alcohol brand, but don’t like Heineken? Why not check out the House of Bols Genever Experience. Genever is a Dutch spirit, similar to gin, which works brilliantly in cocktails, and Bols is the most famous Genever brand in Holland. House of Bols is open from 1pm every day and includes events such as cocktail workshops and more!

World of Ajax Stadium Tour
Ajax Amsterdam are among the most famous football clubs in the whole world. Hugely successful and influential, and home to players such as Johan Cruyff, Dennis Bergkamp, Frank de Boer and Marco Van Basten, the stadium and dressing room tour is a must-see for any football and sport fans. Touch the grass, visit the dugout and download the interactive tour app. And if it’s not a training or match day, you can even take a peek inside the Ajax dressing room. The World of Ajax Stadium Tour is available in Dutch and English.

Amsterdam Small Boat Party
Amsterdam’s canals are among its most famous features, so what better way to see the city than by touring it in a canal boat?
Round your group (minimum 10 people) onto a small boat with an experienced captain and set sail through Amsterdam’s famous canals, with music through a Bluetooth speaker and, best of all, unlimited beer, bubbly and soft drinks for the 90 minute duration of the sailing.
Time: 2 hours
This 22-storey tower first built in the 70s has now become a major tourist destination thanks to the development of bars, restaurants and a hotel inside. Visit M’Adam on the 19th floor for spectacular cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and excellent food, or scale to the very top of the tower for the Lookout experience.
If you’re feeling brave, then you can even hop on a giant swing which will propel you over the edge of the balcony and back. Don’t worry though, you’ll be safely strapped up!

Shopping in the 9 Streets
De Negen Straatjes, or The 9 Streets, is a region of Amsterdam renowned for its fantastic shopping. Located in the heart of Amsterdam’s famous Canal District, these beautiful streets are home to some of the most interesting and unique one-off and independent boutiques and vintage stores. You and your group are sure to find something to pick up and take home as a souvenir.
What’s more, there are a number of restaurants and bars nearby, so you can grab a bite to eat or something to drink once you’ve shopped ‘til you drop!
