Reypenaer Cheese Tasting Room
Located in Singel, the Reypenaer Cheese Tasting Room lets visitors try 6 of their finest cheeses paired together with white wine, red wine and port (non-alcoholic substitutes are also available) with a full demonstration and information from just €15 each. Alternatively you can even book the cheese-tasting canal boat tour, from just €22.50 per person, which departs from Leidsplein each day. All tasting sessions last approximately an hour.
Located on Prinsensgracht, by Anne Frank Huis, the Cheese Museum is a small, cosy cheese shop which covers 600 years of cheese history in the city. With all the different cheese varieties together in one place, visitors can feel free to sample as much as they like, what’s more, admission is just €1, now that’s Edam good value!

Tromp is an excellent cheese shop with knowledgeable staff, the perfect place to search for the finest cheese in the city. The staff are sure to give you a little taste before you buy, or just give you all the knowledge you need to make an informed purchase. Ideal if you’ve got to buy for a picky cheese connoisseur back home!

Despite stocking a wide variety of raw-milk Dutch cheeses, Abraham Kef is best known for its pedigree with French cheese and is one of the best places in the city to sample cheese from outside of Holland, just in case you fancy a break!
While not a traditional Dutch dish, you can find great fondue in Amsterdam, but Fondue & Fondue is one of the best around. Located on Overtoom, it’s in the heart of the city so it’s the perfect place to stop so you can share this wonderful, social dish, just perfect for groups of friends!
