With over 10 million visitors expected, the Rouen Armada is set to be a huge event in the French calendar as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. The event, which takes place every 5 years, sees a swathe of grand ships sail down the Seine, celebrating seafaring history. Concerts, fireworks and celebrations will take over the city in early June, so for a party atmosphere, Rouen is the place to be.

75th Anniversary of D-Day

June sees the 75th anniversary of the start of the D-Day landings and the battle of Normandy, with a host of events planned. The historical sites, cemeteries, museums and cultural monuments turn Normandy into a living history book in which families can explore and share the lessons of the past with new generations. Military parades and re-enactments, fireworks, airdrops, picnics and concerts will all take place to mark a moment in history which led to hope and peace across Europe.
