DFDS offer daily Cross Channel ferry services from two ports in the UK, including the main port Dover as well as and additional service from Newhaven. The routes connect the UK with 3 ports across The Channel including Dieppe, Dunkirk and France’s main port, Calais.
Taking a ferry crossing to France is one of the most popular ways to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of mainland Europe and France itself. Whether you’re taking a family holiday, a romantic break or a business trip, cross channel ferries from DFDS are the perfect starting point to your journey.
We run up to twelve sailings a day from Dover to the historic port town of Dunkirk. With a crossing time of just two hours, this is one of our most popular routes and an excellent destination for travelling deeper into France or neighbouring countries such as Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.
The coastal town of
Calais is a popular holiday resort in its own right thanks to its bustling shopping district and miles of sandy beaches. It’s also an ideal starting point for a French driving holiday. We currently operate 30 daily sailings on our route from Dover to Calais all year round. with a sailing time of around 90 minutes.
The ferry crossing at the Newhaven port is situated close to Brighton, around an hour outside London via the M25. We offer morning and evening ferries, plus an extra ferry during peak dates, to the French port of Dieppe; a picturesque town nestled among the cliffs overlooking the English Channel. With an average sailing time of around four hours, Dieppe is well located for holidays in the Normandy region, and also provides easy access to Paris and Northern France.
