If you’re travelling from the south of England, then our routes from Dover to Dunkirk and Calais offer a quick and convenient way to cross the Channel to the continent. However, if you’re travelling from northern England or Scotland, our daily, overnight sailing on a ferry ​to Holland ​may be more convenient or you.

Ferry crossings


Our ferry crossings are the ideal way to open the gateway to Europe with your school or youth group. Set sail on one of our 54 daily sailings from Dover to Calais or Dunkirk and you’ll be in France in just 90 minutes or 2 hours respectively. Alternatively, if you’re travelling from the north of England or Scotland then our daily, overnight crossings from Newcastle to IJmuiden in Holland are a comfortable and enjoyable way to access the continent.

Once you’re on the continent, we also have a ferry between Copenhagen and Oslo, should you wish to explore Scandinavia and discover two of Europe’s most compelling capital cities.

Gateway to Europe


Once you’ve arrived in any of our European ports, you’ll find easy and convenient access to main cities and popular destinations across the continent thanks to Europe’s excellent motorway network.

Explore sites of historic events and battlefields, visit the homes of famous artists, writers and historical figures, experience some of the world’s best museums or discover the settings of classic literature with your group. With easy access to France, Holland, Germany and Belgium, you’re sure to find something suitable for your group.

Newcastle to Amsterdam


Book a ferry crossing on our Newcastle to Holland​ route and groups of 20 or more people will receive free transportation for the coach and coach driver, as well as a private cabin plus complimentary dinner and breakfast for the driver to keep them refreshed. Teachers will also receive a cabin, sleeping up to 4 people, which we will locate together with the group’s cabins.

What’s more, we also have a special offer on our route from Newcastle to Amsterdam including an evening meal and continental breakfast (with an extra £3 supplement for a cooked breakfast) and a soft drink, from just £17.70pp each way for students up to 21 years old.

Dover to Dunkirk and Calais


The ferry crossings on our routes from Dover to Dunkirk and Calais are short, taking just 2 hours and 90 minutes each, meaning you can get straight back on the road and continue to your destination. The ports are ideally located for access to sites in Belgium, Germany and Holland, as well as further south in France for ski trips. You can return from either port, subject to availability, so you can choose the quickest route back for you.

Entertainment for all


While the crossings on our ferries from Dover to France may be short, there’s no shortage of things to do while you’re onboard. Younger groups will love the children’s play area, while older children can enjoy the arcade games or hit the shops and pick up a souvenir of their trip to take home with them.

The crossings on our route from Newcastle to Amsterdam are overnight, but there’s so much to do that there’s no time to be bored! Catch a movie at the cinema, check out the shops and games or enjoy live music from our house band. We can also arrange a disco for youth groups, just ask Guest Services for details. Children of all ages will love being out on deck and taking in the fresh air and stunning sea views.



On our ferries from Dover to France you’ll find a self-service restaurant, as well as a fast food restaurant or snack bar. With vegetarian and children’s options available, you’re group is sure to find something for you should you need to grab a bite to eat on the short crossing.
