Find your spot out on deck and enjoy all of the aerial action – why not bring your own deckchair? For lunch tuck into a delicious buffet in our 7 Seas restaurant or book a 3-course à la carte meal in the elegant Blue Riband.
There’ll also be plenty of onboard entertainment, too, including live music. There’s also our Kids’ Club and children’s entertainer for the little ones.
Our Wildlife Officer from ORCA will also be onboard helping you spot local marine life from the deck.
Sunderland’s renowned airshow is back again for 2017, with a host of exciting demonstrations in order. You’ll find several areas on our decks where you can catch the outstanding aeroplane exhibitions. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is a dedication to all those who fought and lost their lives in the Battle of Britain, with a breath-taking display by RAF pilots in WWII-style planes. The RAF Falcons will be there, too, putting on an outstanding show as always. Previous years have also seen the Tigers Parachute display team, the Twister Aerobatic team and The Blades.
Please note: Display timings are not released until the day, so we can’t guarantee which planes you will see whilst sailing with us. Visit the airshow website to find out more about displays each day.
Please note: No passports required and children are classed as 11 and younger. Under 3s go free.
Due to the nature of this type of event, where weather and military schedules can change proceedings, DFDS accepts no responsibility of actual flying times. Sunderland Airshow is arranged and managed by Sunderland Council. If the airshow is cancelled or changed by the organisers (Sunderland Council), we reserve the right to alter the route of the sail-out. Customers assume responsibility for their own deckchair should they choose to bring one onboard.
