Festivals In Europe
There aren’t many British holiday traditions quite as enduring as the music festival weekend. Drinking and dancing in your mud-soaked wellies, catching whatever glimpses of sun you can amongst the rain and listening to music from your favourite bands and artists.
While the likes of Leeds, Reading and Glastonbury are world-famous now, there’s also a whole host of festivals in Europe too, covering everything from rock and metal, to dance and jazz music.
The big difference, though, is the weather, rather than wrapping up your well-planned festival outfit in a waterproof poncho or cagoule, in Europe you’re more likely to need sun-block and shades.
Plus the festival camping experience is likely to be much better and more comfortable in Europe, especially as you’ll be able to fit all the essentials you need in your car. What’s more, as the camping charge is usually also included in the festival ticket price or is just a few euros extra, it’s also a very economical way to pay for your accommodation.
Whether you’re planning to spend just some of your break at the festival or to go home as soon as it’s over, you’ll also find our frequent sailings to and from France and Holland is the perfect way to travel to and from the UK to European festivals.
Festivals in France
From Rock en Seine to Nuits Sonores, there are festivals of all types in France, with all genres represented and excellent camping facilities. What’s more, France is just a short hop across the Channel, so it’s quick and easy to travel to the festivals too!
Festivals in Holland
Holland has an incredible heritage of electronic music, so it’s no surprise to see that there are lots of great dance music events and festivals held in the country each year. You can still find other genres too, and all within easy reach of our Dutch ferry port.
Festivals in Belgium
Just a short drive from both France and Holland, Belgium is easy to access by car from the UK. It is also home to a number of fantastic festivals such as Rock Werchter and the Brussels Summer Festival.
Festivals in Germany
Germany’s musical heritage is rivalled by few in Europe, with some of the most famous classical composers of all time calling the country home. It’s no surprise, then, that it hosts the biggest classical music festival in the world, as well as fantastic dance, rock and pop festivals.
